Job summary

Data Innovations, LLC is seeking an Accounting Analyst II to oversee and analyze financial data within the company’s financial system. You will perform day-to-day transactions, prepare general ledger entries, and assist with month-end close and reporting.

The role supports audits and cross-departmental finance needs. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, or finance with 3+ years of related experience, GAAP knowledge, and advanced Excel skills.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Perform day to day financial transactions including AP data and card purchases.
  • Prepare GL entries for cash, AR, AP, inventory, expenses and fixed assets.
  • Ensure month end reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and bank statements.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes and reporting.
  • Support audits and internal controls across departments.

Summary The Data Innovations Accounting Analyst II primary responsibilities are to oversee, ensure accuracy in maintaining, preparing, and analyzing financial data and transactions as it relates to the Company’s financial system. The Accounting Analyst Senior regularly exercises discretion and judgment related to matters of significance while performing the duties and responsibilities of the job.


Essential Functions and Responsibilities


  • Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data, expense reports, company payments, and credit card purchases.

  • Accurately prepare and process general ledger entries for all transactional aspects of the accounting cycle, including but not limited to cash, accounts payable, accounts receivable, inventory, operating expenses and fixed assets.

  • Prepare month end reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and bank statements in a timely manner

  • Prepare payments and journal entries of accrued expenses.

  • Assist with planning and administering the month-end and year-end close process to satisfy the financial reporting cycle.

  • Ensure all deadlines and schedules are met on time and in accordance with company standards.

  • Assist with departmental documentation, including work instructions, policies, procedures, forms, checklists and templates.

  • One of the primary points of contact for accounting inquiries/questions for both the finance department, as well as cross departmental teams.

  • Conduct training and presentations on new financial policies, procedures, and work instructions.

  • Supports Accounting department projects as needed

  • Payroll processing including the payroll GL.

  • Ensure payroll taxes are accounted for and paid correctly.

  • Assist management with developing and revising procedures used for training new staff.

  • Review income statement and balance sheet comparatives for trend analysis data.

  • Develop, analyze, and prepare daily and monthly reports from the accounting department

  • Support income and sales tax audit, research, reporting, and filings.

  • Support internal and external audits.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Requirements


  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles

  • Ability to interpret accounting guidance and regulations

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to adapt to change

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks, execute efficiently and independently in a deadline driven environment

  • At least 3 years of experience with financial closing process and account reconciliation

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft office suite with advanced Excel skills

  • Ability to follow DI's policies and procedures

  • Must comply with and pass initial background check and drug screening, as well as subsequent background checks, drug screenings and vaccine requirements as required by customer contracts

  • Must have unrestricted work authorization in the United States

  • Ability to follow DI's policies and procedures


Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business or Finance and 3 years of relevant working experience or at least 5 years related working experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired.


Preferred skills and experience


  • Working knowledge/experience with NetSuite, Salesforce and Avalara

  • Experience with international financial regulations/requirements (International Financial Reporting Standards), particularly in Europe, South America, and Hong Kong

  • Experience with Software Revenue Recognition Principles


Physical Requirements/Working Conditions

While performing duties of this job, the employee is predominantly functioning in a sedentary light office position with high frequency of keyboarding, and computer use.


Supervision Level

This person reports directly to the Controller of the Finance Department and may support and direct the work of others.


Salary Range

$69,911.97 - 85,758.56 (Compensation will vary based on skills and experience)


Bonus Eligibility

Full-time, non-sales employees are eligible for DI's annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance.
