Job summary

Addison Group in Maple Grove, MN is seeking an Accounting Analyst to support general accounting, financial systems, analysis, and process improvements. You will work with accounting and business services teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, month-end activities, audits, and ongoing process improvements.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 3+ years of relevant experience, with strong Excel skills and experience with ERP/financial systems.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant accounting experience preferred.
  • Experience with month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, and audit support.
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with accounting/financial systems.
  • Experience identifying process improvements and developing solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close support.
  • Assist with bank-related accounting and reconciliation activities.
  • Process check runs and respond to accounting-related requests; prepare documentation for audits.
  • Assist with budget adjustments and financial reporting activities.
  • Analyze accounting processes and identify opportunities for improved efficiency and accuracy.
  • Investigate system and process issues, determine root causes, and help develop solutions.
  • Support accounting-related systems enhancements, implementations, and process changes.
  • Assist with the transition toward more streamlined and paperless accounting processes.
  • Develop and maintain reports and utilize Excel to analyze and organize financial data.
  • Provide training and guidance to internal and external staff on accounting processes and systems.
  • Take ownership of special projects and other accounting initiatives as needed.

Assignment Type: Permanent Hire

Compensation: $75,000–$95,000 annually

Work Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM

Job Description:

Our client is seeking an Accounting Analyst to join their team and support a combination of general accounting, financial systems, analysis, and process improvement initiatives. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys understanding how processes and systems work, identifying issues, and finding ways to make things more efficient.

The Accounting Analyst will work closely with accounting and business services teams to support accurate financial reporting, month-end activities, audits, and ongoing process improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Experience with ERP or financial management systems preferred
  • Previous experience with budgeting, systems implementations, or staff training is a plus
  • Government or education-related accounting experience is helpful but not required
