Job summary

Socket.dev is hiring an Accountant to join our manufacturing team. The role supports accounting, auditing, and statistical work, preparing financial transactions, and closing monthly records in a fast-paced plant environment.

The position will supervise accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll, while leading process improvements and SOX-compliant controls. Strong Excel, Plex, and UKG experience are valued.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years accounting experience in manufacturing preferred.
  • Supervisory experience required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office; advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience with Plex and UKG is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily/weekly/monthly accounting duties and prepare weekly cost reports and financial statements.
  • Supervise accounts receivable and accounts payable to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
  • Process weekly payroll and address tax withholdings, direct deposit and benefits administration.
  • Streamline department processes to improve efficiency and controls.
  • Support plant management with budgeting reports for labor, MRO costs and inventory.
  • Assist with W‑2 and annual inventory processes.

Job description

The Accountant is a supportive team member responsible for a variety of accounting, auditing, and statistical work in a fast-paced manufacturing facility. They will prepare, record, verify, analyze, and reconcile plant financial transactions. They will complete the plant financial statements and month-end closure records and reports in a manufacturing environment. This position has supervisory responsibilities of accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll.

The Accountant is to provide leadership in the areas by developing systems that streamline tasks to ensure efficiency. The position will adhere to all company policies, accounting procedures and financial controls including Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Daily/weekly/monthly accounting duties including the preparation of weekly cost reports, financial statements.
  • Supervising accounts receivable and accounts payable to ensure all incoming and outgoing funds are accurate and on time.
  • Process weekly payroll, answer questions regarding tax withholdings, direct deposit and benefit administration including annual Open Enrollment.
  • Continuously review department and ensure activities are streamlined and efficient.
  • Support Plant Mgmt. with reports on budgeting regarding labor, MRO costs, and inventory.
  • Assist with the W-2 and annual inventory processes
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree (Preferred) in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
  • Minimum of 5 years (Preferred) accounting experience in manufacturing required
  • Supervisory experience
  • Proficient computer skills using Microsoft Office; strong Excel required
  • Experience with Plex and UKG software a plus
  • Exceptional problem solving, analytical and technical skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive information
  • High level of proficiency with demonstrated attention to detail
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills in a team-based environment
