This hands-on role supports high-volume financial operations behind live events, food & beverage activity, and broader organizational reporting, requiring practical reconciliations, revenue accounting and AR skills within a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Approximately 5–7 years of accounting or finance experience.
• Strong understanding of reconciliations and general ledger accounting.
• Experience handling high transaction volumes.
• Proficient in Excel and MS Office applications.
• Attention to detail and high accuracy in work.

Responsibilities

• Review POS sales reports and record revenue to the GL by department and event.
• Reconcile daily POS settlements against bank activity.
• Conduct monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts.
• Reconcile intercompany balances and transactions.
• Manage Accounts Receivable and provide regular updates on outstanding receivables.
• Support Accounts Payable when required and assist with month-end close.
• Assist with monthly financial reporting and audit preparation.

Job description

Mackie Myers is partnering with a leading sports and entertainment organization in Orange County to hire an experienced Accountant into its finance team.

This is a hands-on accounting position within a fast-paced, high-volume environment, supporting the financial operations behind live events, food & beverage activity and the wider organization.

The role would suite an Accountant with approximately 5–7 years of experience who is comfortable owning reconciliations, revenue accounting and accounts receivable while also contributing to month-end reporting, audit preparation and broader finance projects.

The Role

You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the day-to-day accounting operation, with responsibilities including:

• Reviewing and reconciling POS sales reports and recording revenue across the appropriate general ledger accounts, departments and events
• Reconciling daily POS settlements against bank activity
• Completing monthly bank reconciliations across multiple accounts
• Reconciling intercompany balances and transactions
• Managing and maintaining Accounts Receivable, including providing regular updates on outstanding receivables
• Supporting the Accounts Payable function when required
• Assisting with month-end close and preparation of monthly financial reporting
• Supporting external and internal audits, including preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests
• Maintaining accurate and well-organized accounting records and supporting documentation
• Assisting with ad hoc financial analysis, reporting and special projects
• Working closely with the wider finance and operational teams to ensure accurate reporting across the organization

The Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone with:

• Approximately 5–7 years of accounting or finance experience
• A strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations and general ledger accounting
• Experience working with high transaction volumes
• Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
• Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
• The ability to investigate discrepancies, analyze data and resolve accounting issues independently
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A collaborative approach and the ability to work with stakeholders across multiple departments

A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline is preferred.

Experience within food & beverage, hospitality, live events, sports, entertainment or another high-volume consumer environment would be particularly relevant.

Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O is also advantageous but not essential.
