To serve as a civilian employee of the Indiana State Police whose primary responsibility is to assist the Assistant Director in the management of accounting and auditing activities within the Department to ensure compliance with established statutory requirements, regulations, directives, and policies.

- Oversee Archiving
- Oversee Daily Deposits
- Oversee Utilities
- Oversee 4-6 personnel and approve their time reported.
- Assist in Fiscal year end.
- Auditing and approving departmental travel.
- Representing the Department and section at meetings.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Act as the Fiscal Section supervisor in the absence of the CFO and the Controllers
- Audit, code, and approve Travel Requests and Expense reports in T&E modular system.
- Code all paper In-state and SF823 (out of state) requests.
- Code forfeiture, witness fees, restitution, and other types of check.
- Assist in biennium budget preparation.
- Monthly check and pay museum sales tax and department unemployment.
- Oversee utilities and set up new utilities for various locations. Ensure vendor is in the payment system, or their vendor file is accurate.
- Oversee yearly archiving process, check documentation is accurate, send documentation to agency archiving coordinator to sign, and send signed documentation to archiving to pick up documents to be archived. Audit form with documentation to be destroy.
- Quarterly prepare and give to AP request for Enforcement Aid
- Yearly prepare data for 911 report.
- Yearly prepare, audit, and submit all unclaimed funds.
- Supervise, train, and counsel personnel daily.
- Audit and approve subordinate timesheets bi-weekly. And request for time off.
- Represent ISP and Fiscal in meetings.
- Assist in Fiscal year-end clean up by running queries and complete ACFR/GASB reports.
- Act as the Fiscal Section supervisor in the absence of the Director and Assistant Director.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Must have bachelor's degree in business or related field. Job experience in a related field may substitute for degree.
- Ability to instruct, train, and coordinate the activities of others..
- Ability to assist in budget preparations.
- Ability to evaluate and recommend modifications to exist in state accounting procedures.
- Ability to work with computerized word processing reports, spreadsheets, data bases, and software.
- Knowledge of state accounting and budgeting procedures preferred.
- Ability to apply principles established by general accepted accounting principles.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Must be able to access, input, and retrieve information utilizing a computer.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to organize, file, and retrieve information.
- Must be able to proofread documents for accuracy.
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.Must be able to successfully pass a background investigation.
