Accounting Lead (Accountant Sr II)

As an Accountant Sr II, you will be responsible for complex general or cost accounting activities, including review, analysis, and verification. You will support and coordinate the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and controls. You will also lead external audits and maintain complex financial systems to ensure their integrity—all in service of a sustainable health care system.

What You Bring to Cambia:

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business with at least 5 years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.

Skills and Attributes:

• Deep knowledge of accounting principles in areas such as GAAP, SAP, CAS, FAR, and FEHBAR.
• Proven leadership in managing projects, teams, and process improvements.
• Strong financial analysis, contract administration, budgeting, forecasting, and internal control skills.
• Excellent planning, organization, and communication skills, with proficiency in Excel and ability to deliver presentations.
• Experience in training and mentoring team members, research, and professional writing.
• Ability to delegate tasks, set objectives, monitor progress, and provide feedback.

What You Will Do at Cambia:

• Review financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, and statutory filings.
• Oversee monthly financial statement preparation and analysis, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Research and report on accounting standards and regulatory changes, providing guidance for implementation.
• Prepare ad-hoc analyses for senior management, supporting strategic decisions.
• Coordinate financial system updates and enhancements.
• Analyze costs, budgets, variances, and allocations, providing insights and updates.
• Support complex projects such as mergers and system conversions.
• Develop and revise financial policies and internal controls.
• Work with auditors, resolve issues, and ensure audit readiness.
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff, ensuring timely completion of tasks.
• Lead small teams and projects, present results to leadership, and provide coaching.

Work Environment:

Flexible hours, long hours as needed, with potential travel.

The hiring range is $91,800 - $123,100, with a 10% bonus target. Full salary range: $86,000 - $141,000.
