Job summary

GSA invites recent graduates to apply for the Pathways Recent Graduate Program in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer. This one-year program combines professional and technical training with mentoring to develop financial management skills.

We are filling 2 vacancies and may have additional openings as needed; this role prepares you for federal accounting responsibilities and career growth within the agency.

Qualifications

• Requires 24 semester hours in accounting (or related) including up to 6 hours in business law.
• Combination of education and experience may satisfy requirements.
• Resume must demonstrate how you meet the specialized experience for each grade level.

Responsibilities

• Review financial and/or management reports and help interpret trends and adjust as needed.
• Evaluate reports to ensure transactions are charged to the correct user.
• Ensure day-to-day operations comply with accounting principles and objectives.
• Analyze transactions for effects on assets, liabilities and equity and correct errors.
• Serve as a point of contact for routine problems and escalate when needed.

Education

Accounting degree + 24 semester hours in accounting

CPA or CIA certification (preferred)
