Job summary

Glovo, part of the Delivery Hero Group, seeks a Senior Accountant to join our Kazakhstan Accounting team. You will lead month-end closings, ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS, and collaborate with regional teams to produce timely financial reports.

You will oversee accruals, liaise with auditors, and drive automation while coaching junior staff. Strong knowledge of VAT, WHT, and CIT is essential; English and local language fluency required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business or Accounting.
• CPA certification is a plus.
• 3–5 years of multinational accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP/IFRS and month-end closings.
• Experience with VAT, WHT, CIT taxation.
• Experience with 1C and Excel/Google Sheets.
• Intermediate English and local language communication.
• Big4 audit experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

ID:JR0083030 We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Accounting team in Kazakhstan to undertake the month-end closing process for our \"Scope\" (Spanish, Italian, Polish, etc.) international entities, meet with the reporting deadlines and timings and ensure we are in compliance with Group Accounting Policies and applicable reporting standards. You will work closely with our local, Regional and HQ finance teams to manage financial processes, prepare reports, and contribute to the overall success of our organization.

• Lead and complete the month-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Maintain and supervise paper works for the monthly accruals as required as a part of the monthly financial reporting process.
• Maintain the company's accounting books according to the statutory regulations.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial statements and reports for management.
• Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits.
• Review income statements and balance sheet discrepancies and escalation to management if necessary.
• Conduct General Audit of all Accounting Ledgers on a regular basis.
• Ensure all accounting/financial Policies and Procedures are adopted in line with prevailing legislation.
• Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP/IFRS) during the month-end closing reporting.
• Lead automation and standardization initiatives to enhance efficiency across entities.
• Actively collaborate with your colleagues and learn from each other in a supportive environment that allows you to grow, develop and make a difference.
• Collaborate closely with Group Accounting and Regional Controllers to align reporting treatments.
• Act as the key point of contact for the Finance Manager with any finance or accounting related topic.
• Guide and review the work of junior accountants and interns, ensuring high quality and adherence to deadlines.
• Provide coaching and share best practices across the Accounting team.
• Adapt quickly to changes in company policy, tax regulations and legislation.
• Check all original documents (contracts, acts, VAT declarations, etc.) for the company interest.

• Bachelor's Degree from related departments (Economics, Business Administration, Accounting, etc...).
• CPA certification is a plus.
• 3-5years of applicable work experience in Accounting or similar role for multinational companies.
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end closing process preparation.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures (GAAP/IFRS).
• Good expertise in taxation, with a focus on VAT, WHT, and Corporate Income Tax (CIT).
• Experience in working with Big4 auditors or in an audit firm is preferred.
• Good experience in 1C (or any other system) and Microsoft Excel/Google Sheet.
• Intermediate English and \"local language\" with the ability to understand and communicate clearly and effectively (both written and oral).
• Strong analytical skills to analyze financial reports.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A good organization & planning skills.
