Job summary

JCCS in Montana is seeking an Accountant II to assist in completing tax returns, year-end compilations, and other accounting projects. The Accountant II operates under supervision of Managers, Senior Managers, or Shareholders with a commitment to confidentiality and service.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within the accounting field.
• Excellent computer skills, including spreadsheets; the ability to problem solve; attention to detail, and good organizational skills.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• The ability to work as a team member and under close supervision of other accounting staff.

Responsibilities

• Maintains strict confidentiality of information related to client, staff, and Firm’s internal operations during and after employment with JCCS.
• Assists with tax returns by processing organizers, entering data into the tax software, and responsible for completion of information, prior to review.
• Performs detailed payroll functions for clients according to deadlines, which may include check processing and quarterly payroll reports for various states and federal, for review.
• Generates data entry for monthly and quarterly accounting and financial statements for timely deadlines and review process. Processes and distributes 1099s at year end.
• Complies with IRS, state and federal tax requirements, wage and hour, and researches clients’ questions for accuracy and compliance.
