Job summary

Avery Dennison Corporation in Mentor, OH is seeking an Accountant to join our dynamic accounting team. You will support the Materials Group across multiple systems, including Oracle R12.

You will be responsible for booking journal entries and completing account reconciliations, as well as complying with SOX requirements by providing needed information and overseeing several SOX controls. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; an Accounting degree is strongly preferred.
  • 3–5 years of professional accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Oracle Experience strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, specifically with macros, pivot tables, and V‑Lookup preferred.
  • Oracle and/or Hyperion experience a plus.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Demonstrated multitasking and prioritization in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage month-end closing activities, including the preparation of journal entries and review of balance sheets and cut‑off procedures.
  • Perform accurate and timely balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Standardize General Accounting processes, identify best practices, and implement process improvements.
  • Complete cost rolls.
  • Assist in the coordination and testing of SOX controls.
  • Ensure internal control compliance by assisting in the coordination and testing of SOX controls.
  • Work with divisions and corporate on various projects.
  • Prepare tax reports, quarterly corporate schedules, and year‑end financial documentation.
  • Promote a culture of accountability and collaboration while maintaining the highest standards of business ethics.

Job Description

We have an immediate need for an Accountant to join our dynamic accounting team. You will support the Materials Group business in multiple systems, including Oracle R12. The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, at least 3-5 years of accounting experience with manufacturing accounting in their background; strong skills in Microsoft Excel; the ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy and composure; strict attention to detail; and excellent verbal and written communication techniques.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; an Accounting degree is strongly preferred.
  • 3-5 years of professional accounting experience, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
  • Oracle Experience strongly preferred.

  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, specifically with macros, pivot tables, and V‑Lookup preferred.

Working Arrangement

Pay Transparency

The salary range for this position is $60,000 - $89,600 per year. The hiring base salary range above represents what Avery Dennison reasonably expects to pay for this position as of the date of this posting. Actual salaries will vary within the range, and in some circumstances may be above or below the range, based on various factors including but not limited to a candidate’s relevant skills, experience, education and training, and location, as well as the job scope and complexity, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel required for the position, which may change depending on the candidate pool.
