Avery Dennison is seeking a Finishing Team Manager - A Shift to lead safety, quality and productivity on a production line. You will drive Lean Sigma initiatives and coach a diverse team to meet company goals and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma and at least 3 years of leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing; knowledge of ELS/lean/sigma preferred.
  • Ability to lead and develop a diverse team.
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Operations Management, Engineering, or related field.

About the role

As a Finishing Team Manager - A Shift, you will lead efforts to ensure customer satisfaction while achieving business objectives regarding Safety, Employee Engagement, Quality, Productivity, Process Improvement, and Cost-effectiveness within your assigned shift and department.

Key Responsibilities

Position Type: On-site

  • Safety Leadership: Promote safety as the most important value in the organization by actively enforcing all Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures, ensuring participation of team members in required safety training, and leading or participating in incident investigations and corrective action plans.
  • Shift & Operational Management: Provide overall leadership for the shift by creating a motivating environment for team members to meet and exceed facility goals for safety, service, quality, productivity, cost, and inventory control targets.
  • Process Improvement: Initiate, implement, and support effective operational improvements to promote safety, increase employee engagement, improve quality, minimize scrap, and increase overall productivity.
  • Manufacturing Excellence: Ensure execution of standard operating procedures, standard work, quality standards, cycle counts, and safety/housekeeping audits while engaging in technical problem-solving and troubleshooting associated with process equipment and product performance.
  • Employee Development & Continuous Improvement: Oversee daily activities of team members including coaching, counseling, performance reviews, and meaningful feedback while facilitating Enterprise Lean Sigma (ELS) continuous improvement activities and Kaizen events.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

High School diploma and a minimum of 3 years of leadership, process improvement, and supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment required (Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred).

Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, support, delegate, and develop a diverse team of talent to achieve operational results.

Knowledge of manufacturing operations systems, best practices, processes, continuous improvement (ELS) principles, and lean sigma tools.

Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, effectively problem-solve operational issues, and implement solutions to prevent recurring problems.

Effective time management, project management, organizational, and professional communication skills (written, verbal, active listening) with a commitment to promoting Avery Dennison values.
