Job summary

Kinder Morgan in Houston seeks an experienced finance analyst to support duplicate invoice recovery, vendor credits, and internal reporting. You will re-process invoices, research issues, and assist with AP systems using Power BI, PowerQuery, SQL, VBA and MS Office.

This hybrid role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and clear communication. You will work independently and with teams to meet month-end deadlines and help improve Ariba and Lawson reporting and testing updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, MIS, CIS, or related discipline required.
• 3-5 years of related work experience strongly preferred.
• Proficient with Lawson, Ariba IM, Ariba SLP, PowerBi, PowerQuery, SQL Report Writer, VBA, MS Office.
• Strong computer skills and high level of detail for data research and issue resolution.

Responsibilities

• Assist employees with questions about re-processing invoices or credits.
• Maintain the APStatement mailbox.
• Work within Ariba IM and Lawson to resolve invoicing issues.
• Resolve reconciling status issues in Ariba and exceptions in Lawson.
• Assist with reporting needs and with development or testing of AP systems.
• Meet month-end and year-end deadlines.
• Perform additional duties as needed by management.

What We Are Looking For

The Finance organization is seeking an experienced analyst to support duplicate invoice recovery activities paid to our vendors through internal reporting and bi-annual audit. The candidate should be comfortable with assisting employees throughout Kinder Morgan with re-processing invoices, recovering credits and researching. They also need to be proficient in PowerBi, PowerQuery, SQL, VBA, and MS Office products to assist with the reporting needs of the department.

Success in this role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate complex processes while delivering exceptional customer service. The candidate must be able to work independently and collaboratively and adapt to changing business needs.

We offer a hybrid schedule (Monday-Wednesday in office, Thursday-Friday remote).

What You Will Do

• Assist employees with questions about re-processing invoices or credits
• Maintain the APStatement mailbox
• Work within Ariba IM and Lawson to:
• Resolve issues with invoices stuck in reconciling status in Ariba
• Resolve issues in Lawson for exceptions from Ariba
• Assist with reporting needs
• Assist with development and design of new AP systems
• Assist with any testing updates in current AP systems
• Meet month end/year end deadlines
• Additional duties as needed by management

What You Need

Educational Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, MIS, CIS, or any closely related discipline is required.

Experience

• 3-5 years of related work experience is strongly preferred.

Position Requirements

• Proficient with business systems: Lawson, Ariba IM, Ariba SLP, PowerBi, PowerQuery, SQL Report Writer, VBA, Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)
• Strong computer skills
• High level of detail skills used to research/analyze data and troubleshoot issues through to resolution
• Ability to multitask
• Ability to follow Accounts Payable procedures and guidelines which include our SOX controls
• High level of patience when training or working with coworkers
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to adapt to changes as determined by upper management
• Some overtime may be required during month/year end
• Must be able to work with a team, take direction from management, prioritize work schedules, focus attention on details, and follow rules
