Gunnison County is seeking an experienced accountant to support reporting, audits, grants, budgeting, reconciliations, and other financial projects. You will collaborate with department heads to deliver timely financial information and ensure compliance with applicable rules.

The role offers a stable public-sector environment in the Gunnison Valley, with full benefits and a focus on annual budgeting and special financial initiatives.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in accounting. Degrees in finance, business or public administration, with an emphasis in accounting, or a closely related field, may be considered, and
• Three (3) years of progressively responsible accounting or finance work, or
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs accounting functions and provides financial support to the County including reporting, audits, grants, administration, annual budgeting, reconciliations, and other special financial reporting and projects.
• Correspond with County Department Heads and their delegates to support their financial needs and questions.

Job Summary

Pay Rate

Starting hourly range is from $32.06 to $36.50 depending on experience, plus full benefits.

• Must complete IC S 100 and IC S 700 within the first year of employment.
