Applies principles of accounting to analyze financial information, prepares journal entries, allocates financial transactions and recommends appropriate accounting treatment of financial transactions. Performs data entry into the Unified State Accounting System (USAS).
Monitors state appropriations. Performs various state accounting tasks including, but not limited to, data processing, requesting reimbursements, draws and returns of state appropriations, and reconciling and correcting discrepancies between the University’s accounting system and Unified State Accounting System (USAS). Reviews transactions imported into USAS from Banner for accuracy and correctness. Assists with year-end closing procedures and preparation of state financial reports. Reviews, investigates, and corrects errors and inconsistencies in financial entries documents and reports. Determines proper handling of financial transactions. Monitors compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and University policy and procedures. Assists with various special projects as needed. Performs other related duties as assigned.
