Job summary

North Carolina A&T State University seeks an Accountant I in the Treasurer's Office to perform professional accounting, reconciliation, analysis, and financial reporting related to student accounts and university revenue. You will review transactions, reconcile accounts, research discrepancies, and prepare entries while upholding GAAP and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field with accounting coursework or equivalent experience.
• Graduate degree preferred but not required (Master's in Accounting/Finance).
• Experience in higher education accounting and familiar with Banner/TouchNet is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform accounting, reconciliation, analysis and financial reporting for student accounts and university revenues.
• Review and analyze financial transactions; reconcile accounts and subsidiary systems; resolve discrepancies.
• Prepare accounting entries and reports; ensure GAAP compliance and internal controls.
• Provide accounting support for student accounts and collaborate with campus partners on financial issues.
