The Tlingit Haida Regional Housing Authority is seeking a Finance professional in Juneau, AK to perform accounting tasks, reconcile ledgers, prepare financial reports and support audit activities. • Maintains schedule of notes payable and receivable.
• Work with the Procurement Specialist to reconcile inventory.
• Assist with audit preparation.
• Staff support – assists Accounting Specialists in processing payroll, vendor payments, and other activities as needed.

Salary Range: $30.84 To $40.09 Hourly

I._Summary:

Performs accounting work involving the preparation, review, processing, reconciliation and maintenance of financial documents for the purpose of reporting accounting data in the general ledger. Provides financial analysis as requested. Provides monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting as required by state and federal regulations.

II._Authority:

Works independently and with all T-HRHA staff, clients and vendors. Reports directly to the Finance Director and under general supervision of Controller.

III. Duties and Responsibilities:

• Monthly reconciliations of accounts receivable subledgers to general ledgers
• Maintain monthly schedules of balance sheet accounts
• Performs bank reconciliations
• Prepare and/or post general ledger journal entries to reclassify expenses or record transactions.
• Maintains schedule of notes payable and receivable
• Work with the Procurement Specialist to reconcile inventory
• Assist with audit preparation
• Staff support – assists Accounting Specialists in processing payroll, vendor payments, and other activities as needed. Work with the Grant and other Accountants in the maintenance of records related to their duties and responsibilities.
• Other – Additional accounting duties may be assigned from time to time depending on the needs of the housing authority and or finance department.

IV. Required knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

• Knowledge of accounting and computer systems
• Knowledge of governmental accounting and reporting
• Proficient with Excel
• Experience with fund accounting

V. Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED. Three years of accounting experience required or bachelor’s degree in accounting may substitute for accounting experience.
