Hershey Trust Company is seeking an Accountant I to join our finance team.This position supports the accounts payable and general ledger functions.Other responsibilities include processing vendor invoices, employee expense reimbursements, and responding to vendor inquiries.This role will also prepare daily and periodic general ledger journal entries, research and resolve accounts payable discrepancies, prepare reconciliations and supporting schedules, assist with annual 1099 filings and periodic regulatory filing support, and contribute to other accounting and finance projects as needed.
The ideal candidate will have an associate or bachelor's degree in accounting, with 1-3 years of accounting experience preferred.Experience with general accounting software applications is preferred.Accounts Payable Specialist certification is also preferred.Candidates should bring strong attention to detail, accuracy, customer service, follow-through, and a basic understanding of general ledger structure and account classifications along with strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Planner is expected.This is a hybrid position based in Hershey, Pennsylvania, with the expectation of working in the office two or more days per week, typically Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
