Your Part-Time Controller, LLC (YPTC) is a national leader in providing outsourced accounting services to nonprofit organizations and operates in the Washington, DC market, including surrounding states.

The role Accountant for Nonprofit Organizations involves processing AP/AR/payroll, reconciliations, monthly financials, grant tracking, and audits, with emphasis on nonprofit experience and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum 3 years of related experience; 5+ years preferred.
• Outstanding communication skills and positive attitude.
• Knowledge of accounting software; QuickBooks experience is a plus.
• Intermediate-level Excel skills.
• Willingness to travel to client offices when safe.
• Nonprofit experience preferred but not required.
• Part-time employees work during normal business hours.
• Customized cover letter explaining interest and qualifications is required.

YPTC's Washington, DC market includes WDC, Northern Virginia (Arlington, Alexandria, and surrounding counties), suburban Maryland (Chevy Chase, Bethesda, Silver Springs and surrounding counties), as well as the Greater Baltimore and Greater Richmond regions of Maryland and Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Weekly and monthly processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
• Bank account and balance sheet reconciliations
• Monthly financials and related analysis
• Grant tracking and monitoring
• Cash flow projections and monitoring
• Preparation for outside audits

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Accounting or Finance
• Minimum 3 years of related experience in public accounting and/or industry; 5+ years preferred
• Outstanding communication skills and positive attitude
• Knowledge of, or interest in learning, multiple accounting software packages; QuickBooks experience is a plus
• Intermediate-level Excel skills
• Willingness to travel to client offices as needed when it is safe to do so
• Nonprofit experience preferred, but not required
• Part‑time employees are expected to work during normal business hours to best serve clients

Starting annual base salary is $75,000 to $90,000 based on a 35‑hour work week for this non‑exempt position. Total compensation may increase with overtime pay and eligibility for various bonuses. Base salary may vary depending on education, skill, experience, licensure and certifications, internal salary ranges, geographical location, and other business needs.
