Job summary

CFS in Grand Rapids is partnering with a growing nonprofit focused on mental health counseling, substance use treatment, and family services. We are hiring an Accountant/Financial Analyst to deliver accurate financial support, reporting, and compliance.

The role conducts reconciliations, budgeting support, funder reporting and external statements, with growth opportunities and a flexible hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
• 2-3 years of accounting experience.
• Proficiency in Excel required.
• Experience with G/L systems.
• Non-profit experience preferred.
• Mas100+ experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Account reconciliations.
• Financial reporting.
• Funder expense tracking.
• Billings for reimbursement from contractual agencies/funding sources.
• Timely external reports and budgets for funders.
• Funder financial reviews.
• Journal entries.
• Financial statements.
• Assist with annual financial statement audit and annual budgeting process.

Position: Accountant/Financial Analyst

Salary: $55,000-$65,000

This Accountant/Financial Analyst position will provide high quality financial support and expertise to this mid-sized nonprofit. Their finance team is instrumental in ensuring that program and agency leaders have the financial tools available to ensure data driven planning and decision making.

Accountant/Financial Analyst Responsibilities

• Account reconciliations
• Financial reporting

This position also partners with other accountants, senior accountants and CFO in implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures. This opportunity has potential for internal growth and advancement.

Accountant/Financial Analyst Education & Requirements

• Michigan resident - this is a must! Ability to come onsite.
• Bachelors Degree in accounting or finance
• 2-3 years of accounting experience
• Proficiency in Excel
• Experience with G/L systems
• Ability to work within / meet strict external deadlines
• Strong attention to detail
• Experience in non-profit setting strongly preferred
• Experience with Mas100 plus
