FOOKE USA, Inc. is seeking an experienced, hands-on Accountant/Controller to oversee the full accounting cycle, including payroll, AP, AR, and monthly financial reporting. You will own the books, build the finance function, and provide timely information to management.

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 5+ years of hands-on accounting including month-end close.
• Solid US GAAP knowledge and advanced Excel.
• Multi-state sales and use tax experience (incl. CA).
• Understanding of project-based revenue recognition.

Fooke USA is seeking an experienced, hands-on Accountant / Controller to oversee and perform the company's day-to-day accounting and financial reporting functions. This position is responsible for the full accounting cycle, including accounts payable, customer invoicing, accounts receivable, payroll, account reconciliations, tax filings, and monthly financial reporting. The successful candidate will be comfortable independently managing routine accounting activities while maintaining accurate financial records and providing timely financial information to management.

WHO WE ARE

FOOKE builds high-end 5-axis gantry milling machines for large, complex parts. FOOKE USA is the North American arm of this German engineering company, handling sales, service and spare parts for customers in aerospace, automotive and heavy industry.

We're a team of 10 with about $15 million in annual sales. That means short decision paths, direct access to management in Michigan and Germany, and work that is visible and valued.

WHAT YOU'LL OWN

Daily Accounting and Bookkeeping

• Maintain the general ledger and record day-to-day accounting transactions.
• Process vendor invoices, manage accounts payable, and prepare payments.
• Prepare and issue customer invoices, record customer payments, and monitor outstanding receivables.
• Reconcile bank accounts, credit cards, and other balance sheet accounts.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
• Process employee payroll and related accounting records, including reconciliation of401(k) liabilities
• Month-end and year-end close, with draft financials for CFO review
• A verified trial balance and project controlling file, on time, every month

Financial Reporting and Month-End Close

• Prepare weekly reports for management: cash flow status, A /R aging, etc.
• Manage the monthly and annual accounting close processes.
• Prepare monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for management.
• Assist management with cash flow projections and other financial reporting needs.
• Maintain project-related accounting records and assist with revenue recognition and job profitability reporting, as applicable.
• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for the company's annual financial statement review.

Tax, insurance and outside partners

• Multi-state sales and use tax, including California: calculate, file and tie every return to the ledger
• Corporate insurance: renewals, broker relationship, certificates and claims

WHAT YOU BRING

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or a related field
• 5+ years of hands-on accounting, including month-end close
• Solid US GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel, and experience with accounting software
• Multi-state sales and use tax experience
• Understanding of project-based revenue recognition
• A careful, discreet and reliable approach to your work

Bonus points for: a manufacturing or industrial background, ERP experience, insurance management, a CPA, or experience working with a German parent company.
