Job summary

Menasha Corporation is seeking a Billing Accountant to ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of billing activities while supporting accounting, tax, and compliance functions. You will work with Customer Service, Logistics, Operations, Finance, and customers to investigate issues and resolve discrepancies.

The role involves managing journal entries, tax documentation, and working with SAP to maintain tax exemption records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in accounting, billing, or accounts receivable.
• SAP experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and general ledger reconciliations.
• Research and resolve account discrepancies and identify root causes.
• Review billing transactions for accuracy and correct sales/use tax application.
• Maintain customer tax exemption certificates and related records in SAP.
• Assist with sales and use tax reporting and audits through documentation and analysis.
• Review and approve credit memos, debit memos, and billing adjustments.
• Investigate and resolve customer billing questions and disputes.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Logistics, and Finance to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Support international locations and ensure reporting consistency.

About The Opportunity

As a Billing Accountant, you'll help ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and integrity of billing activities while supporting accounting, tax, and compliance functions. You'll work closely with Customer Service, Logistics, Operations, Finance, and customers to investigate issues, resolve discrepancies, and identify opportunities to improve processes and performance.

What You'll Do

• Prepare journal entries and perform general ledger account reconciliations.
• Research and resolve account discrepancies, identifying root causes and recommending corrective actions.
• Review billing transactions to ensure accuracy and proper sales and use tax application.
• Maintain customer tax exemption certificates and related records within SAP.
• Assist with sales and use tax reporting and support tax audits through documentation and analysis.
• Review and approve credit memos, debit memos, and billing adjustments.
• Investigate and resolve customer billing questions and disputes.
• Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Logistics, and Finance teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Collaborate with international ORBIS locations to support financial processes and reporting consistency.
• Analyze billing trends, identify opportunities for improvement, and help drive process enhancements.
• Provide backup support for billing operations and contribute to broader finance initiatives.

What You'll Bring

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
• Experience: 2+ years of experience in accounting, billing, or accounts receivable.
• SAP experience is a plus.
• Understanding of accounting principles, billing processes, and the revenue cycle.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining strict confidentiality.
• Self-motivated approach with a passion for continuous improvement.

Travel & Work Environment

Up to 5% domestic and international travel, including occasional overnight stays. Ability to obtain a passport is required. Primarily office-based with occasional visits to manufacturing facilities. May require flexibility outside normal business hours to support business needs.
