Job summary

Cable One is seeking a Lease Accountant to maintain lease accounting schedules and support the end-to-end lease accounting process in a dynamic corporate environment. You will engage with stakeholders, review systems, and ensure controls align with reporting standards.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree in accounting or financial accounting and at least one year of general ledger experience, with ASC 842 experience highly preferred. Remote options available for qualified candidates nationwide.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Financial Accounting with at least one year of practical general ledger accounting experience.
• Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains lease accounting schedules in accordance with ASC 842.
• Develops detailed understanding of end-to-end lease accounting processes, stakeholders, systems, and internal controls for reporting.
• Prepares weekly/monthly/quarterly analyses and related journal entries for lease accounting.
• Reconciles balance sheet accounts and investigates variances in a timely manner.
• Supports internal and external audit activities, including SOX compliance.
• Completes special projects and analyses as requested by department leadership.
• Keeps abreast of FASB, SEC and PCAOB standards affecting accounting practices.

What you will do to contribute to the company's success

• Maintains lease accounting schedules in accordance with ASC 842.
• Develops detailed understanding of the end-to-end process of lease accounting, including related stakeholders, systems, accounting processes, and internal controls that support internal and external reporting.
• Proactively works on preparing weekly/monthly/quarterly analyses and related journal entries in support of lease accounting.
• Reconciles balance sheet accounts; Investigates and resolves variances on a timely basis.
• Supports assigned internal and external audit activities, including SOX compliance.
• Completes special projects and analyses as requested by department leadership.
• Proactively seeks to keep abreast of accounting, reporting and disclosure standards promulgated by the FASB, SEC and PCAOB that affect internal accounting and reporting practices. Provides sound analysis and supports the impact of changes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university focusing in Accounting, or Financial Accounting; and a minimum of one year of practical general ledger accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting and/or corporate accounting environment.

• Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting is highly preferred
