Job summary

Cable One is seeking an accounting professional to support lease accounting and the broader general ledger function. The role focuses on ASC 842 compliance, journal entries, account reconciliations, and internal controls. You will collaborate with internal stakeholders and audit teams to ensure accurate reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; 1 year of practical general ledger accounting experience.
• ASC 842 lease accounting experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains lease accounting schedules in accordance with ASC 842.
• Develops understanding of end-to-end lease accounting processes and internal controls.
• Prepares weekly/monthly/quarterly analyses and related journal entries.
• Reconciles balance sheet accounts and resolves variances promptly.
• Supports internal and external audit activities, including SOX compliance.
• Completes special projects and analyses for department leadership.
• Keeps up-to-date with FASB, SEC, and PCAOB standards affecting accounting practices.

What you will do to contribute to the company's success

• Maintains lease accounting schedules in accordance with ASC 842.
• Develops detailed understanding of the end-to-end process of lease accounting, including related stakeholders, systems, accounting processes, and internal controls that support internal and external reporting.
• Proactively works on preparing weekly/monthly/quarterly analyses and related journal entries in support of lease accounting.
• Reconciles balance sheet accounts; Investigates and resolves variances on a timely basis.
• Supports assigned internal and external audit activities, including SOX compliance.
• Completes special projects and analyses as requested by department leadership.
• Proactively seeks to keep abreast of accounting, reporting and disclosure standards promulgated by the FASB, SEC and PCAOB that affect internal accounting and reporting practices. Provides sound analysis and supports the impact of changes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university focusing in Accounting, or Financial Accounting; and a minimum of one year of practical general ledger accounting experience, preferably in a public accounting and/or corporate accounting environment.

• Experience with ASC 842 lease accounting is highly preferred
