  • Three years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking.
  • Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in accounting.
  • A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in accounting.
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, or statistics.
  • An advanced degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, quantitative methods, or statistics.
  • Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license.
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Responsibilities

  • Assigns, reviews, analyzes and maintains general and subsidiary ledgers of programmatic budgeted expenditures and revenues for one or more DPS/PSS agencies which includes monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliations.
  • Provides direction and assurances that revenue transactions have been properly classified; maintains cash management ledgers of funds drawn and received in order to alert management regarding any under-collecting of budgeted funds; prepares journal vouchers to reclassify revenues as necessary; maintains accounts receivables ledgers; Prepares monthly reconciliations of Agency Program, special fund and credit card reconciliations
  • Primarily responsible for the preparation, review, analyzation and approval of complex monthly, quarterly and annual fiscal reports including the Annual Financial Reports.
  • Consults and recommends solutions to problem areas and issues and supports management in order to facilitate resolution while making recommendations.
  • Prepare reports and compiling data needed to control expenditures, accounts receivables and revenues.

We're looking for an Accountant 1/2/3/4 within the Financial Services section at DPS-OMF.
