Job summary

EMERGING BLUE is seeking an experienced Accountant to support our apparel client in a fast-paced environment. You will report to the Accounting Manager and handle journal entries, reconciliations, fixed assets, intercompany invoices, and multi-state sales tax filings.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting and 10+ years of accounting experience, strong GAAP knowledge, SAP experience, and Excel proficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 10+ years of accounting experience, retail or multi-entity preferred.
• Solid GAAP knowledge and strong GL accounting skills.
• Experience with SAP and multi-state sales tax filings.
• Proficient in Excel and data analysis.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and ownership mindset.

Responsibilities

• Post journal entries, allocations, and accruals.
• Maintain the general ledger and classify transactions.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and analyze GL activity.
• Process intercompany invoices and reconciliations.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and calculate depreciation.
• Reconcile monthly credit card accounts.
• Prepare multi-state sales tax returns.
• Support monthly close and audits; identify process improvements.

We are searching for an Accountant for our client in the apparel industry. This role will report to the Accounting Manager and is a great fit for someone with strong accounting knowledge who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The Accountant will be responsible for journal entries, reconciliations, fixed assets, intercompany invoices, and multi-state sales tax filings.

Key Responsibilities

• Post journal entries, allocations, and accruals.
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure proper classification of transactions.
• Analyze general ledger activity and prepare balance sheet reconciliations (prepaid expenses, fixed assets, AR, accrued expenses).
• Process intercompany invoices and reconciliations.
• Maintain fixed asset schedules and calculate depreciation.
• Reconcile monthly credit card accounts.
• Prepare and file multi-state sales tax returns.
• Analyze expense accounts and support monthly close.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes, strengthen internal controls, and shorten the close cycle.
• Assist with external audits and ad hoc projects.

Qualifications
