Job description

Growing multi-entity home services group (roofing/construction) is seeking a hands-on Accounting Manager to own and scale the accounting function.

This is a player-coach role — you’ll lead while staying in the details. You’ll manage full-cycle accounting, ensure a timely close (by the 15th), and build systems that support growth in a fast-moving, field-driven business.

What you’ll do:

• Own full-cycle accounting across multiple entities (QuickBooks)
• Lead month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations
• Oversee AP/AR, payroll, 1099s, W-2s, and compliance
• Manage job costing, WIP reporting, and revenue recognition
• Track project profitability, labor/material costs, and margins
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
• Handle lien releases, subcontractor payments, and vendor compliance
• Build SOPs, strengthen internal controls, and improve processes
• Deliver accurate financials and actionable insights to leadership

What we’re looking for:

• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Strong QuickBooks + month-end close experience
• Experience in roofing, construction, or home services strongly preferred
• Familiarity with job costing, WIP, and project-based accounting
• Detail-oriented with a strong ownership mindset
