Overview

Virginia Cancer Specialists, affiliated with McKesson Specialty Health and US Oncology, a leader in cancer care, is seeking an experienced Full Time Senior Accountant to work at our Administrative office in Fairfax, Virginia. SCOPE: Under general supervision, performs accounts receivable and general ledger accounting functions for VCS Research division. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.


Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads the research accounts receivable function to include generating sponsor invoices and pursuing collections from study sponsors.
  • Works with research finance department to maintain the finance module of the clinical trial management system (CTMS).
  • Responsible for all general ledger accounting functions related to practice research to include monthly journal entries, account reconciliations and summary financial reporting.
  • Provides various practice specific reporting as requested by Controllers.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all information related to patients, medical staff, finances, and cost-effective health care delivery issues.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field (finance, business). Minimum two to five years of general ledger / billing & collections experience. Prior accounts receivable experience a must. Progressive work experience in different accounting functional areas - Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Budget, and Fixed Assets. Ability to work independently and proven organizational and time management skills to ensure all department deadlines are being met in a fast-paced work environment. Above average Excel skills. CPA highly desirable. Healthcare industry experience a plus but not required.
