Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day general accounting activities and maintain accurate financial records.
• Manage Accounts Payable transactions, invoicing, coding, approvals and payments.
• Manage Accounts Receivable activities including invoicing, cash application and reconciliations.
• Prepare and post journal entries; assist with general ledger maintenance.
• Perform account and bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities.
• Monitor contract portals and procurement portals (Aruba and Coupa).
• Support reporting and financial analysis as needed.
• Communicate with internal departments, vendors, and customers on accounting questions.
• Identify discrepancies and assist with resolving issues.
• Support process improvements and accounting projects as needed.

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in Vero Beach, FL. This position is ideal for an accounting professional with a strong understanding of general accounting principles, Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR) who enjoys working across multiple areas of the accounting function.

The Accountant will support day-to-day accounting operations, maintain accurate financial records, process transactions, assist with reconciliations, and work within customer and vendor contract portals, including Aruba and Coupa.

This is a direct-hire, hybrid opportunity offering competitive compensation and the opportunity to take on a broad range of accounting responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day general accounting activities and maintain accurate financial records
• Process and manage Accounts Payable (AP) transactions, including invoices, coding, approvals, and payments
• Manage Accounts Receivable (AR) activities, including invoicing, cash application, account reconciliation, and follow-up on outstanding balances
• Prepare and post journal entries and assist with general ledger maintenance
• Perform account and bank reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
• Review financial transactions for accuracy and proper documentation
• Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation
• Work within contract and procurement portals, including Aruba and Coupa
• Monitor invoices, purchase orders, contracts, and related documentation
• Assist with reporting and financial analysis as needed
• Communicate with internal departments, vendors, and customers regarding accounting-related questions
• Identify discrepancies and assist with resolving accounting issues
• Support process improvements and other accounting projects as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
• 2+ years of accounting experience preferred
• Strong understanding of general accounting principles
• Hands-on experience with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
• Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger activities
• Experience working with Aruba and/or Coupa preferred
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team
