Job summary

ELS in Chicago, Illinois is seeking an Accountant to support daily reconciliations, journal entries, and monthly closes.

You will reconcile complex bank and balance sheet accounts, prepare aging schedules, and propose improvements to policies and procedures.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting, 2+ years' experience, CPA preferred, strong Excel skills, and a detail‑driven, proactive mindset. This role offers competitive benefits and career growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA designation preferred.
• At least two years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting concepts, with a focus on journal entries and bank reconciliations.
• Meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure, drive projects to completion and meet deadlines.
• Encouraged to be proactive and results-driven.
• Strong financial acumen, including problem-solving and critical thinking.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Estimated compensation for this position in the states of BC, CA, CO, IL, MA, MD, MN, NJ, NY, VT and WA is:

Annual Salary: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00

A salary offer will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, internal equity and alignment with market data.

In addition to the base pay and our benefits, some positions are eligible for bonuses, sales commissions, or incentive pay.
