Job summary

Acara Solutions in Thousand Oaks, CA seeks an experienced Accountant to support revenue recognition, internal controls, and management reporting in accordance with GAAP and corporate policies. You will analyze inventory usage and variances, partner with Operations to identify root causes, and contribute to audits and process improvements.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field and 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including inventory and cost

• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or manufacturing environment.
• 10+ years of experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile inventory subledger to the general ledger and recommend COGS adjustments as needed.
• Prepare period cost reserves, excess & obsolete (E&O) analyses, and related journal entries.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and prepare quarterly financial variance explanations.
• Lead and participate in quarterly and annual audits, tax packs, surveys, and physical inventory counts.
• Contribute to special projects focused on process improvement, efficiency, and profitability.

Job Requirements

What You’ll Bring

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business Administration or Economics.
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate or manufacturing environment.
• 10+ years of experience with inventory accounting, cost accounting, and internal controls.

What Sets You Apart

• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation and analysis.
• Familiarity with government contract compliance, FAR, and CAS regulations.
• Experience with Deltek Costpoint, TM1, and OneStream.
