Acara Solutions is seeking a Financial Analyst in Grain Valley, MO to support the stabilization after SAP S/4HANA implementation. You will validate data, assist with month-end close, and help establish new reporting processes across multiple entities.

The role requires 3–5 years of accounting/finance experience, advanced Excel, and strong data analytics. This contract position runs Monday–Friday, with a 12-month term and potential extension.

About the Opportunity

The Finance Analyst will provide critical support to the Accounting & Reporting team during the stabilization period following the implementation of SAP S/4HANA and legal entity consolidation. This role helps ensure accurate financial reporting, support month-end close activities, validate financial and operational data, investigate discrepancies, and support the transition to new financial processes, structures, and reporting requirements. This role will report to the Corporate Controller.

What You'll Do

• Support post-go-live SAP S/4HANA stabilization activities, testing, and data validation.
• Identify, document, and investigate system, process, and reporting issues.
• Support root cause analysis and elimination of manual reporting adjustments established during go-live.
• Support month-end financial close and reporting activities.
• Research and resolve reporting discrepancies and financial data issues.
• Perform account reconciliations and variance analysis.
• Validate financial reporting accuracy across legal entities, business units, cost centers, profit centers, and functional areas.
• Develop, maintain, and enhance reporting solutions using Power Query, Power Pivot, and Power BI.
• Analyze large financial and operational datasets to identify trends and exceptions.
• Document processes and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Reporting, Shared Services, Finance, and Operational teams.

Additional Responsibilities

Project & Work Order (WO) Accounting

• Work Order Settlements: Perform weekly test runs and execute weekly settlement processing for work orders (WO), investigating and resolving settlement errors or variances.
• Project Settlements: Review, monitor, and execute weekly test runs of project settlement cycle.
• Capital Asset Accounting (AUC): Track Assets Under Construction (AUC) and execute the capitalization process to place AUC assets into service in accordance with company policy and IFRSA.

General Ledger & Month-End Close Support

• Recurring Entries: Prepare, review, and post routine and recurring journal entries throughout the month.
• Month-End Close: Actively assist the accounting team during the monthly closing cycle, adhering strictly to deadlines and cutoff schedules.
• Account Reconciliations: Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations, research reconciling items, and maintain supporting audit documentation.
• Reporting: Generate monthly reports in support of Finance functions.

Tax Compliance & Reporting

• Sales & Use Tax: Compile transaction data, prepare monthly sales and use tax reports, and maintain organized documentation for compliance review.
• Year-End 1099 Reporting: Support year end 1099 filings for vendors.

Audit Support & Compliance

• Audit Tracking: Supports internal and external audits by coordinating sample gathering, and follow up with cross-functional teams to resolve outstanding items timely.
• Records Retention: Help support gathering and maintaining records tied to Audits.

Job Requirements

Required Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Data Analytics, or related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in accounting, finance, financial analysis, financial reporting, or business analytics.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (working with complex datasets and data analysis)

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SAP S/4HANA or other ERP systems preferred.
• Strong experience with Power Query, Power Pivot, and Power BI preferred.
• Experience supporting ERP implementations, system conversions, or finance transformation initiatives.
