Job summary

Texell Credit Union, a respected financial institution, is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our Temple, TX headquarters onsite. A BA/BS in Accounting or Finance or 4+ years of accounting experience is required. CPA-track support is available for those pursuing certification.

You will review GL transactions, prepare financial reports, assist with budgets and forecasting, and support audits and policy development while helping deliver efficient, compliant accounting practices.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance or 4+ years accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and accurate financial data handling.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Review general ledger transactions and reconcile general ledger accounts.
• Prepare financial reports; ensure complete/accurate financial, statistical, and account records.
• Assist with annual budget preparation and financial forecasting.
• Assist with accounts payable as needed.
• Work with examiners and auditors on year-end audits, internal audits, and examinations.
• Contribute to development of accounting procedures for efficiency and cost reduction.
• Participate on project teams for operational improvements and new products/services.

Must have a BA or BS in Accounting or Finance -or- at least four (4) years of accounting experience.
