Job summary

Southwest Healthcare is seeking a Full-Time Accountant to analyze costs, revenues and obligations to forecast financial performance for multiple facilities in the region.

The Regional Accountant will prepare financial statements, ensure ledger accuracy, and maintain records in compliance with healthcare standards. Strong knowledge of Excel/Word and ability to work independently is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University in related field required.
  • Three years of experience in Accounting required. Healthcare Accounting experience, preferred.
  • CPA or other professional certification preferred.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and compliance with The Joint Commission and Title 22 standards and guidelines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; solid accounting principles.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations to predict future revenues and expenses for multiple facilities.
  • Prepare balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports.
  • Ensure accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconcile subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger.
  • Maintain financial records and ensure that financial transactions are properly recorded.

  • Must have knowledge of PC and applications.
  • Solid knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and with minimum supervision.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft products, such as Excel and Word.
  • Must have the ability to use good judgment and critical thinking skills in all situations.
  • Must be able to use the following: SMS, AS400, Computer, Calculator (10-Key Proficient), Fax Machine, LaserJet Printer, AS400 Printer, SMS Printer.
