Job summary

Paylocity is seeking an Accountant to maintain accurate financial records, support the monthly close, and ensure the integrity of financial reporting across multiple entities and locations. The role manages day-to-day accounting operations, assists with budgeting and forecasting, and provides leadership with timely financial information.

You will work with a team to improve processes, prepare financial statements, and ensure GAAP compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
• CPA certification is preferred but not required.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting experience.
• Experience with full-cycle accounting and month-end close.
• Experience working with multiple entities, locations, or franchises is preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.
• Experience preparing financial statements and reconciliations.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in QuickBooks Enterprise.
• Record and reconcile all transactions (bank, credit card, loans).
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Process and track intercompany transactions (corporate vs. franchise-related activity).
• Perform monthly close process, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Maintain financial dimensions (locations, departments, entities).
• Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow).
• Track and reconcile franchise-related revenue (royalties, fees, marketing contributions).
• Support reporting by store, region, and ownership structure.
• Assist in creating scalable systems for multi-unit growth.
• Collaborate with leadership on budgeting and forecasting.
• Identify discrepancies, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement.
• Maintain organized financial documentation and audit-ready records.

Key Responsibilities

Daily & Weekly Accounting

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in QuickBooks Enterprise
• Record and reconcile all transactions (bank, credit card, loans)
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Process and track intercompany transactions (corporate vs. franchise-related activity)

Monthly Close & Reporting

• Perform monthly close process, including journal entries and reconciliations
• Maintain and manage financial dimensions (locations, departments, entities)
• Prepare monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
• Ensure consistency and accuracy across all reporting categories
• Track and reconcile franchise-related revenue (royalties, fees, marketing contributions)
• Support reporting by store, region, and ownership structure
• Assist in creating scalable systems for multi-unit growth

Operational Support

• Collaborate with leadership on budgeting and forecasting
• Identify discrepancies, inefficiencies, and opportunities for process improvement

Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong knowledge of accounting systems and financial reporting software.
• Ability to analyze financial data and identify discrepancies.
• Experience with budgeting and forecasting is preferred.
• Quickbooks Experience is required
