Responsibilities

• Maintain accounting records for multiple divisions (administration, development, operations).
• Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries including accruals and debt service.
• Reconcile general ledger and subsidiary ledgers; resolve discrepancies in invoices, POs, encumbrances, and retention.
• Review AP/AR, payroll, inventory, and capital assets for accuracy.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with audits and cash controls.
• Ensure compliance with GASB, GAAP and governmental reporting requirements.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accountant for a direct hire opportunity in San Francisco, CA within the government and public sector space. The Accountant will support accounting operations across multiple divisions, prepare journal entries, reconcile accounts, assist with audits, and help ensure compliance with GAAP, GASB standards, public sector reporting requirements, and internal financial policies. Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accounting records for multiple divisions, including administration, development, and operations.
• Prepare and post recurring and non-recurring journal entries, including accruals, allocations, cash activity, capital assets, debt service, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and subsidiary ledgers, resolving discrepancies related to invoices, purchase orders, encumbrances, and retention.
• Review financial activity across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, inventory, and capital assets for accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with financial statement production, audits, physical inventories, and cash audits.
• Ensure compliance with GASB standards, GAAP, federal and state regulations, governmental reporting requirements, and internal financial policies.

• Compensation: $48 per hour.
