Eastern New Mexico University seeks a professional accountant to perform analytical and financial administration duties. You will review complex transactions, advise departments, ensure policy compliance, and support year-end close efforts in a university environment.
Strong knowledge of accounting principles and Excel is required, along with attention to detail and effective communication. Evening/weekend availability may be needed to meet deadlines and ensure accurate reporting.
Position Summary Under general supervision, perform professional accounting and financial administration functions involving analysis, review, interpretation, and application of university policies, accounting principles, and applicable state and federal regulations. Exercise independent judgment in reviewing financial transactions, resolving accounting issues, and advising university departments on financial matters.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Minimum Job Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration, Public Administration, Computer Information Systems with an emphasis in accounting and a minimum of two years' experience directly related to the duties specified, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience is required.
