Job summary

LifeSkills Connection Inc. is hiring a multi-entity accountant to prepare and examine financial records, manage reconciliations, and support tax compliance. The role covers AP/AR workflows, payroll assistance, and collaboration with senior finance leaders.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's in accounting with at least 2 years of accounting experience, including QuickBooks Online and Excel proficiency. Benefits include health, retirement, and PTO.

  • Experience with multi-entity or fund accounting preferred
  • Experience with federal contract accounting or government cost accounting standards is a plus

  • Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations across all entities
  • Manage AP/AR workflows including invoices, payments, and collections follow-up
  • Support tax preparation and compliance efforts with the company CPA
  • Prepare budgets and forecasts as directed
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger across entities in QuickBooks Online
  • Assist with payroll processing and payroll reconciliations
  • Work with CPA, VP of Finance, and Corporate Finance Operations Manager to meet financial needs

Job description

POSITION Description:

Responsible for preparing and examining financial records across a multi-entity organization, identifying potential areas of opportunity and risk, and providing solutions to support business operations. Ensures that financial records are accurate, that financial and data risks are evaluated, and that taxes are supported and paid properly. Assesses financial operations and works to help ensure that the organization runs efficiently across all entities.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Prepare and examine financial statements across multiple entities to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and federal contract requirements

  • Perform monthly bank and account reconciliations across all entities

  • Execute and support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciling schedules

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable workflows, including invoice processing, payment runs, and collections follow-up

  • Support tax preparation and compliance efforts in coordination with the company CPA, ensuring all documentation is accurate and submitted on time

  • Prepare financial statements, budgets, and forecasts as directed

  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger across all entities in QuickBooks Online

  • Organize, analyze, and maintain financial records in accordance with company policies and retention requirements

  • Assess financial operations, identify risks and challenges, and make best-practices recommendations to management

  • Suggest ways to reduce costs, enhance revenues, and improve profits

  • Ensure that accounting systems are up to date, accurate, and secure

  • Process and track expense reimbursements, purchase orders, and corporate credit card transactions

  • Support payroll processing, including reviewing timekeeping data, verifying accuracy, and assisting with payroll reconciliations

  • Work closely with the company CPA, VP of Finance, and Corporate Finance Operations Manager to ensure all financial needs are met

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Proven organizational skills and the ability to maintain precise records across multiple entities

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and experience working within a multi-company accounting environment

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis

  • Knowledge of productivity and collaboration tools, including Microsoft 365 (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)

  • Critical thinking, problem solving, analytic reasoning, and data analysis

  • Able to work collaboratively in a team setting

  • Can work independently and without supervision when required

  • Accuracy and attention to detail

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills


EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field and 2 years' experience working as an accountant

  • Experience with multi-entity or fund accounting preferred

  • Experience with federal contract accounting or government cost accounting standards is a plus
