Job description

Trailer Bridge is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accountant to join our accounting team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing journal entries, assisting with financial close processes, and performing account reconciliations. The Accountant will play an important role in supporting accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to ongoing process improvements within the accounting department.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries for recurring and adjusting transactions
• Reconcile general ledger accounts on a regular basis
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Prepare balance sheet and income statement schedules as needed
• Support fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules
• Assist with external audit requests and documentation
• Maintain documentation for accounting processes and internal controls
• Support special projects and process improvement initiatives
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings and financial reporting as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 1–3+ years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
