Accountant – Logistics Industry Experience (NetSuite)
Base pay range: $75,000.00/yr – $85,000.00/yr
Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Accountant with a strong logistics or supply‑chain industry background and hands‑on NetSuite experience. This role is critical in managing financial records tied to operations such as shipping, warehousing, inventory, and logistics contracts. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented and experienced in GL accounting, cost tracking, and financial reporting in a fast‑paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain the general ledger (GL) to ensure accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
- Lead the month‑end and year‑end close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Analyze and report on logistics‑related costs such as shipping, warehousing, and supply‑chain operations.
- Collaborate with operations and logistics teams to manage costs and contracts with third‑party shipping companies.
- Prepare and maintain accounting schedules, cost allocations, and perform variance analysis.
- Monitor and track inventory‑related transactions for accurate financial reporting.
- Utilize NetSuite for financial operations, reporting, and process automation.
Qualifications
- 3–5+ years of accounting experience, with a focus in the logistics, transportation, or supply‑chain industries.
- Strong experience with NetSuite ERP is required.
- Solid GL accounting background, including journal entries, reconciliations, and close processes.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and applicable financial regulations.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and time‑management skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Preferred
- Experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- CPA or CPA track is a plus.
- Familiarity with cost accounting and financial system improvements.
