Our client, a rapidly growing logistics organization, is seeking a hands-on Staff Accountant to join their accounting team. This individual will play a key role in supporting both day-to-day accounting operations and the month-end close process while helping ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data.

This position is best suited for someone who takes ownership of their work and goes the extra mile when business needs require it.

Responsibilities

• This role will support all Accounts Receivable & Cash Management for this division of the organization
• Apply and post daily customer cash receipts and remittances
• Investigate and resolve unapplied cash and payment discrepancies
• Monitor customer accounts and perform collection activities as needed
• Communicate with customers regarding outstanding balances, payment status, and delivering updated statements
• Generate and review aging reports
• Maintain accurate customer account records
• Reconcile customer balances and update account activity
• Assist with billing support and account inquiries
• Support the General Ledger as needed including overall general accounting
• Prepare and post journal entries, maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, and perform monthly bank reconciliations
• Participate in month-end and year-end close activities, stepping into take on responsibilities as the need arises for the team
• Assist in preparing financial reports and supporting schedules
• Analyze account variances, research discrepancies, and commentary details as needed.
• Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and ensure timely resolution of outstanding items
• Support external audit requests and documentation requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of accounting experience, including exposure to both accounts receivable and general ledger accounting
• Prior NetSuite experience is required for this role
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and account reconciliations
• Experience with journal entries, month-end close, and financial reporting support
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and follow-up abilities

• Comfortable balancing transactional accounting responsibilities with higher-level accounting work

Direct Placement Roles:

Compensation:

$85,000 to $95,000 per year annual salary.
