Job summary

Specialized Recruiting Group is assisting a local Iowa company in hiring an Accountant. The role will focus on billing and accounts receivable, with additional duties in accounts payable, payroll, and general accounting.

The Accountant will also help with ERP system implementation and process improvements. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of accounting experience, a relevant degree, and proficiency with ERP systems and Excel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or an associate degree in accounting/finance or related field.
• Minimum 3+ years in accounting with emphasis on billing and accounts receivable.
• Accounts payable and payroll experience is a plus; manufacturing/construct ion accounting background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue customer invoices, including standard and project-based billing.
• Process customer payments, monitor balances, and follow up on past-due accounts.
• Reconcile customer accounts and resolve billing discrepancies.
• Review, code, and process vendor invoices and payments.
• Assist with payroll processing, timekeeping verification, and payroll reconciliations.
• Support month-end closing activities, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
• Assist with ERP implementation, including data validation and testing.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with accounting/ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has hands-on accounting experience, particularly in billing and accounts receivable, and is comfortable working across multiple accounting functions. Experience with ERP systems, process improvements, and supporting accounting operations during system changes is a plus.
