Job summary

Express Employment Professionals – Hawaii seeks a Senior Accountant to support financial reporting, budgeting, tax compliance, and month-end close activities. This role offers independence and collaboration with leadership to support business decisions. Must be bilingual in Japanese and English.

The position pays $77,000-$85,000 annually plus a performance bonus. Benefits include Health Insurance, PTO, 401(k) and a performance-based bonus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting.
• Experience with consolidations, intercompany accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting software experience.
• Fluent in Japanese and English (written and verbal) required.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Preparing financial statements, reconciliations, and management reports.
• Managing consolidated financial reporting and intercompany transactions.
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis efforts.
• Preparing tax filings and coordinating with external tax advisors.
• Monitoring project costs and maintaining Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules.
• Assisting with audits, compliance requirements, and process improvements.
• Providing financial insights and recommendations to management.

As the Senior Accountant, You'll Be Responsible For:
