Job description

Our Client, a Health Insurance company, is looking for an Accountant for their Chicago, IL location.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage Treasury/Cash activities, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis. Audit bank and GL accounts for accuracy. Bachelor's Degree with 1-5 years of experience. Reports to Director, Treasury.
2. Support daily and month-end cash management, investment, and accounting activities.
3. Access bank reports from various institutions for cash projections and reporting.
4. Determine daily cash position to meet business needs, managing excess or shortage of funds.
5. Monitor and analyze business money-movement transactions through bank reports.
6. Review Positive Pay exceptions and ACH returns to safeguard assets and prevent fraud.
7. Review, approve, and initiate daily fund disbursements via ACH or FED Wire, maintaining bank routing info and calculating funding for investments.
8. Prepare month-end accounting entries for Treasury and Investments, and generate reports for accuracy.
9. Deliver electronic reports and bank statements for month-end reconciliation and tax purposes.
10. Perform weekly banking reconciliations to ensure accuracy of transactions.
11. Update cash projection reports.
12. Assist in preparing daily cash reports, review investment strategies, and manage Letter of Credit draws.
13. Apply GAAP principles to prepare financial statements and reports.
14. Assist with journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis.
15. Audit records for accuracy.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree with 1-5 years of experience.
• Report to the Director of Treasury Operations.
