Major Responsibilities for the Senior Accountant:
- Retrieve claim level data from multiple third-party administrators, review for accuracy, and reconcile to internal data within Excel reports.
- Calculate and record accounting entries from claim level data for dispense fee revenue, costs of goods sold, inventory receivables, accruals, and payables for 340B based on contractual obligations and current pricing files.
- Consolidate large Excel data sets for analysis, reporting, and reconciliation to the general ledger.
- Track and update inventory receivable details for all monthly claims and replenishments by NDC and entity, creating manual inventory receivable aging reports monthly via Excel.
- Track and process invoices, verifying claim level support and calculations per contractual obligations, ensuring offsetting inventory receivables are matched.
- Understand, track, and resolve variances in 340B claim level transactions between external reports and internal Excel files.
- Analyze and summarize monthly results and communicate findings to the Accounting Manager.
- Prepare monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external partners working in non-financial roles to resolve 340B issues.
- Participate in developing and documenting policies and procedures to maintain and strengthen internal controls, and identify process improvement opportunities.
- Assist outside auditors by gathering necessary account information and documents for annual audits.
Position Qualifications for the Senior Accountant:
- Education/Learning Experience: Degree in accounting or equivalent experience.
- Work Experience: Minimum of 3+ years in accounting, month-end close, and data reconciliation. Experience with medical or pharmacy claim data and inventory reporting is preferred.
- Skills/Knowledge: Advanced Excel skills, experience with manual reconciliation of large datasets, highly detail-oriented, excellent organizational and communication skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter with initiative, dependable, organized, with strong internal customer focus and interpersonal skills.
