Qualifications

  • Eight (8) years of accounting, auditing, budgeting, or related financial experience.
  • Strong knowledge of nonprofit/governmental fund accounting.
  • Experience preparing financial statements and grant reporting.
  • Ability to comply with federal/state regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews, balances, and classifies revenue and expenditures to proper accounts per federal regulations and WPHW policies.
  • Audits entries and documents for accuracy, propriety, and proper coding.
  • Reviews financial summaries and statements for accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with month-end closing.
  • Internal control review and fraud prevention support.
  • Assist with external audits and grant reporting.
  • Assist with payroll processing review.
  • Train and support accounting staff as applicable.
  • Maintain vendor online bill pay accounts.
  • Develop and maintain financial policies, controls, and reporting procedures.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Rolls
  • Reviews, balances, and classifies all revenue and expenditures to proper accounts in accordance with federal regulations and WPHW policies.
  • Audits entries and documents to ensure accuracy, propriety, proper account coding, adequate explanations, and other applicable information in accordance with federal and state regulations.
  • Reviews the various accounts, financial summaries, and statements for accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with month-end closing
  • Internal control review, support accounting policies, monitoring and preventing fraud.
  • Assist with external audits
  • Assist and review grant reporting
  • Assist with payroll processing review
  • Train and support accounting staff as applicable
Accounting Systems Support
  • Ensure practices are GAAP and MAAP compliant and comply with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Assists with the development of and maintenance of financial and business policies, controls, and reporting procedures
  • Assists with the development of documentation of systematic procedures for payroll related tasks
  • Maintain vendor online bill pay accounts
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Education,Qualifications/Skills
  • University degree in accounting, business administration, economics, commerce, or a related field OR
  • Eight (8) years of experience in accounting, auditing, budgeting, financial planning and analysis or other financial activities
  • Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Understanding of non-profit/governmental/fund accounting.
  • Ability to maintain process according to federal and state regulations.
  • Experience with QuickBooks.
  • Experience reconciling accounts and maintaining general ledgers.
  • Capable of producing various financial reports from interpreting and analyzing data.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Ability to solve problems and analyze information
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Able to maintain high levels of confidentiality
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
