Job summary

The CFS organization in Atlanta is seeking an experienced Accountant to support financial reporting, audits, and key accounting initiatives within a nonprofit setting. You will prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly closes, while collaborating with leadership across affiliated entities and investment accounting to drive accuracy and process improvements.

This role offers a hybrid work schedule with 3 in-office days and 2 remote days each week, 100% employer-paid

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, allocations, payroll entries, and other GL transactions.
  • Perform bank and account reconciliations and support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities.
  • Assist with financial reporting, audit preparation, tax support, and related accounting schedules.
  • Maintain accounting records and reconciliations for affiliated entities and investment activities.
  • Calculate management fees, interest income, and other investment-related accounting adjustments.
  • Support process improvements, system enhancements, and automation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities of the Accountant
  • Prepare journal entries, accruals, allocations, payroll entries, and other general ledger transactions as a core responsibility of the Accountant.

Qualifications For The Accountant
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in an Accountant or accounting-related role.
  • Strong experience with general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Understanding of fund accounting, investment accounting, consolidations, or corporate accounting principles.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience working with ERP or accounting systems.
  • Nonprofit accounting experience preferred but not required.
