Job summary

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with an established organization to hire a Senior Staff Accountant. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will support financial reporting, month-end close, account reconciliations, cash management, tax compliance, audits, and internal controls.

The successful candidate will lead close activities, prepare journal entries, assist with financial statements, analyze variances, manage bank activity, and ensure SOX compliance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience in a corporate setting.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems.
• Advanced Excel skills: PivotTables and XLOOKUP.
• SOX compliance and internal controls experience preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work independently.
• High level of professionalism and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned month-end and year-end close activities.

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Analyze account fluctuations and resolve discrepancies.
• Manage bank reconciliations, cash activity, wire transfers, ACH payments, and NACHA files.
• Prepare sales and use tax returns and support other tax filings.
• Prepare audit schedules and respond to internal and external audit requests.
• Maintain compliance with GAAP, SOX, and company accounting policies.
• Improve accounting processes, procedures, and internal controls.
• Partner with cross-functional teams on accounting and financial reporting matters.
