Job summary

Nelnet Business Services (NBS) seeks a dedicated agent to respond to payer/applicant calls and emails, resolve account issues, and conduct outbound outreach for account research. The role emphasizes accuracy, ownership, and responsive service in a fast-paced environment.

Training is provided, with shifts during CT business hours and a 20–30 hour weekly schedule. A high school diploma is required, with 2+ years of related work encouraged. Visa sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• Required: High school graduate
• Preferred: At least 2 years of college/technical school (ability to substitute related work experience for college/technical school requirements)
• Two years of related work experience.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and emails as a top priority and engage callers one-on-one.
• Assist payers/applicants in setting up accounts.
• Provide information to educate payers/applicants on their account.
• Update demographic information on accounts.
• Contact payers/applicants regarding their accounts (outbound when needed).
• Independently troubleshoot and resolve payer/applicant issues with ownership on escalated calls.
• Model and promote good attendance and arrive on time for scheduled shifts.
• Meet or exceed department quality and quantity standards.
