Job description

Position Summary

We’re in this for the greater good at ParetoHealth. Our mission is collective greatness, nothing less will do. Our team is a single force united in the drive to transform employee health benefits.

The company was founded in 2011 to help small and medium‑sized businesses fight the rising cost of employee health benefits. We blazed the trail with financing innovations that reduce the risks in self‑insurance and deliver significant savings—and we continue to lead with a growing ecosystem of partners and world‑class cost control solutions.

But success is measured by more than dollars alone and we measure ours by the good that comes from knowing that every client and all their employees can count on effective, affordable healthcare for years to come.

Please note that ParetoHealth does not provide employment visa sponsorship for this position. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship both now or in the future.

If you ask around at Pareto Health who keeps everything running, you will hear the same answer almost every time: the Account Management team. Our Account Managers are trusted partners for our expanding client case, serving as the main point of contact and ensuring seamless collaboration. They help connect vetted consultants to innovative benefits financing and cost management solutions. Together, we serve mid‑sized employers looking for a better way.

We are seeking a results‑driven Account Manager who combines relationship management, technical expertise with consultative skills. This role is responsible for managing a portfolio of consultant & employer accounts, while driving results, nurturing key relationships, providing education, tracking all necessary documentation and deadlines, and collaborating cross‑functionally to ensure Pareto Health’s 96% member retention rate holds steady for another 10 years. The ideal candidate is both a trusted advisor and a proactive solutions‑focused professional.

Top candidates will be sharp, personable, analytical, and highly detail‑oriented. We especially value individuals who are quick—to grasp new concepts, share a laugh, and contribute meaningfully within a fast‑moving organization with ambitious goals.

In return, Pareto offers an energetic workplace filled with people who are deeply committed to the mission—without taking themselves too seriously.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Account Ownership & Retention

  • Own a portfolio of consultant and employer accounts, serving as the primary strategic partner responsible for retention, satisfaction, and long‑term value creation.
  • Support proactive account planning, risk identification, and renewal strategy to protect recurring revenue and grow cost savings solution adoption.
  • Anticipate client needs using performance, utilization, and renewal data to prevent churn and drive durable partnerships.

Executive Level Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain trusted advisor relationships with consultants, agency service teams, and senior level employer stakeholders.
  • Confidently lead executive level conversations, including business reviews, strategy sessions, and complex issue resolution.
  • Represent the voice of the customer internally, advocating for client needs and influencing internal priorities.
  • Build trust through technical expertise and the ability to clearly articulate how Pareto processes work, how underwriting was conducted, the impact of plan changes on employer financials, and how claims reporting relates to an employer’s level of risk.
  • Drive end‑to‑end renewal execution, including data validation, coordination with underwriting, and consultant communication.
  • Apply strong financial and analytical judgment to guide discussions on cost containment, plan performance, and economic trade‑offs.
  • Partner cross‑functionally to ensure accurate billing, documentation, and compliance with contractual requirements.

Value Expansion & Growth Enablement

  • Identify opportunities to expand adoption of Savings Engine solutions and services that increase client value, reduce overall costs, and strengthen retention.
  • Lead strategic planning sessions, business reviews, educational events, and ongoing check‑ins that align client goals with organizational initiatives, including adoption of cost savings solutions.
  • Drive engagement in webinars, member meetings, and educational initiatives that reinforce value realization.

Cross Functional Execution

  • Coordinate across territory partners such as sales, customer service, customer operations, finance, underwriting, and leadership to deliver a seamless, high‑quality customer experience.
  • Take ownership of timelines, processes, and deliverables—ensuring accountability to territory results.

Data Driven Decision Making & Reporting

  • Leverage performance dashboards, utilization reporting, and risk indicators to guide strategy and client recommendations.
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for consultants and employer stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and Salesforce records to support forecasting, reporting, and organizational visibility.

Professional Judgment & Autonomy

  • Exercise independent judgment in prioritization, escalation, and problem‑solving within a dynamic portfolio.
  • Navigate ambiguity with confidence, balancing speed, accuracy, and stakeholder impact.
  • Continuously deepen expertise across various types of self‑funding, claims reporting, TPA practices, Pareto solutions, and market trends.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience required.
  • 5+ years’ experience in a client‑facing account management, customer success, consulting, or related roles.
  • Experience in health insurance and/or self‑insurance or related fields.
  • Ability to manage consultative executive relationships through client lifecycle management, with exposure to renewal negotiations.
  • Comfort working with data, reports, and financial metrics.
  • Experience collaborating cross‑functionally to deliver exceptional results.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal communication.
  • Strong presentation skills and comfort presenting to large audiences.
  • Must be able to work on multiple projects at once, have a high attention to detail, and accomplish large volumes of work with minimal supervision.
