ROLE HIGHLIGHTS

The Account Manager is responsible for growing and maintaining profitable relationships within assigned accounts and territories, which may evolve over time. Approximately 75% of the role is focused on engaging with customers and prospects through meetings, presentations, territory canvassing, tradeshows, virtual meetings, and national industry events to sustain and grow sales. The Account Manager also oversees sales support activities such as scheduling meetings, telemarketing, coordinating campaigns, preparing proposals, and conducting client visits. This role works closely with the Vice President of Business Development to ensure alignment with company goals and strategies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Demonstrate extensive knowledge of the promotional products and/or apparel industry, with a track record of success in sales roles.
  • Possess strong expertise in presenting and accurately quoting a range of products, including apparel lines, decoration techniques, Vantage Apparel's proprietary styles, wholesale items, prestige brands, private label offerings, and custom design solutions.
  • Lead professional, high-level consultative sales meetings to develop solutions, negotiate pricing and services, and resolve conflicts.
  • Proactively grow and maintain business with existing customers while identifying and developing new relationships, primarily with promotional product distributors in the Upper Midwest territory.
  • Able to travel overnight within and outside the assigned territory, including to other regions as needed for training, events, meetings, or customer support (subject to applicable travel restrictions).
  • Work independently to meet goals while also collaborating effectively within virtual team environments to support broader company and client objectives.
  • Bring creativity, a positive attitude, and a proven ability to problem-solve and manage conflict effectively.
Requirements

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with people at all levels within and outside the organization to support larger goals and objectives.
  • The ability to handle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A high degree of professionalism in communication, attitude and teamwork with customers, peers and management.
  • Knowledge of the promotional products industry, including its business model, pricing structures, key companies, and professionals, is preferred.
  • Knowledge of apparel or decorated apparel, especially Vantage Apparel products, is a plus.
  • Understanding of the assigned geographical territory.
  • Strong organization and attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to communicate creative solutions with confidence, ease and clarity.
  • Must have ongoing, reliable access to independent transportation.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE COMPUTER SKILLS

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Business Development or a minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience in sales.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Demonstrated high proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
